Phillip is a local photographer who ended up on the Eastern Shore over six years ago through a series of unfortunate events that were entirely his fault. But now that he has had a chance to get used to the place, You’re stuck with him.
He got his start in the Midwest, where he arrived just in time to accompany his family on a move to the East Coast. Whereupon he then spent several years doing things very few people are interested in hearing about. It wasn’t until his teen years that he first picked up a camera and said, “This could be fun.”
10,000 pictures later, Phillip decided that some formal training was in order. So off he went to a small photography school in Western Massachusetts that was so obscure that even the local post office was unsure about its exact location. It was there he worked on his next 10,000 photographs. (they were better than the first batch.)
Upon finishing school, Phillip’s professional career started humbly, with him wandering around to complete strangers and asking if they needed a picture taken. With a small adjustment to his marketing plan, he was able to find enough work to allow him to sleep inside most nights.
Keeping one step ahead of his creditors has allowed Phillip to work in such varied locales as New Jersey, NYC, Boston, DC, New England, and Colorado. He has been published in newspapers, magazines, and books. And has been displayed in galleries, and private collections.
Phillip currently lives in Belle Haven, Virginia. And when he isn’t taking pictures, he divides his time between keeping his dog from getting into things, and ignoring his lawn.
